In 1925 Pope Pius IX established this feast to let the world know where ultimate authority lay. Today, nearly a century has passed, but we still proclaim that love conquers all things, and none have loved or ever will love like Jesus Christ.
Over the years we hear various predictions about the end of the world. Prophets of doom! Today’s readings are not predictions of the end. They are apocalyptic writings describing the present – what is happening at the time of writing. It is symbolic and therefore needs some understanding of the times.
End of Life Care meeting will be held on Sunday 15 November from 11am-1pm in the Diocesan Centre Conference Room. The meeting will begin with 2 speakers (Simon O’Connor MP Tamaki and Martin Sullivan Social Work Lecturer Massey University) outlining some of the main arguments against Euthanasia.
