Ministry to the Sick

Our mission as disciples of Jesus Christ is to do what Jesus did. In reading the Gospels, we learn about Jesus’ concern for the sick. Healing was essential to the mission of the disciples: “He summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two . . . They anointed with oil the many who were sick and cured them” (Mark 6:7-13). The early Church continued to be a sacrament of healing: “Are any among you sick? The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven” (James 5:14-15).

We are blessed in our parish to have a number of our parishioners visiting those who cannot physically celebrate the Mass with the wider community. Private homes, rest homes and hospitals are visited on a regular basis. If you would like a visit, please contact the Parish office.
