Young Adult Ministry
There many opportunities for Catholic young adults in Palmerston North:
- Young adult events are held every week after 6pm Mass at the Cathedral – these include
- Pub Night, where we meet at the Celtic on Broadway for a drink and chat;
- Discussion Nights, where a guest speaker comes in to talk on a particular topic;
- Games Nights, usually accompanied by pizza and/or beer; and
- Prayer Nights, such as praise and worship or adoration
Te Ahi Kaa (‘the Hearth Place’, 25 Amesbury St) is a young adult community house young adults who are interested in living in a Catholic community and who have a particular focus on service and hospitality are able to live here for a year. Retreats, camps and other events are held regularly throughout the year, both in the Palmerston North Diocese and beyond. These include a Cocktail Party, a Murder Mystery Party, weekend retreats to the Southern Star Abbey at Kopua, Passionist Young Adults retreat, and SetFree Youth Festival.
