Praying the Sunday Gospel is held every Friday in the Cathedral Lounge at 11.00 am. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Please note that due to the scaffolding and roof repairs, there will be no hospitality today, after Mass.
Daily Exposition for Advent – The Most Blessed Sacrament will be available to pray and spend some quiet time with throughout Advent. Come join us at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit anytime between the hours of 7 – 9am, Monday through Friday.
Nativity Play 2023 – The Nativity play will take place: Christmas Eve Vigil Mass, OLOL, 6pm – If your child(ren) are interested in being a part of the OLOL Nativity play, please contact Donna Brown pastoral@pncathedral.org.nz. Christmas Day, Cathedral, 9:30am – If your child(ren) are interested in being a part of the Cathedral Nativity play, please come to our practices after the 9:30am Masses on Sunday, 17 December and 24 December. Blokes Morning Tea – Tuesday, 12 December, 10am at the Manawatu Golf Club. This will be the last morning tea in 2023. Then, we hope to see you in the New Year, at the first morning tea of the year on Tuesday, 23 January 2024, 10 am at the Cathedral Lounge.
Ladies Movie Afternoon – Tuesday, 12 December, 1:30pm in the Cathedral Lounge. The movie is “Meet me in St Louis” (1944), a Christmas musical starring Judy Garland and including the classic recording “Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas”.
Wednesday Evening Rosary – Each Wednesday evening at 5pm, you are invited to attend and pray the Rosary. A small group meets and prays the Rosary, says prayers for Priests, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Divine Praises. The intentions of these prayers are for the Holy Father’s intentions, vocations, peace throughout the world and the conversion of sinners. Those present are invited to express/include their own personal/general intentions. We usually conclude by 5:45pm. 2nd Rite Reconciliation – Thursday, 14 December, 7pm at the Cathedral. In the light of joy this Advent season, reconciliation and forgiveness is offered through a service with Scripture, followed by individual confession and absolution. What a great way to clear your conscience, look ahead and reflect on the birth of Jesus! Please join us.
Palmy Young Catholics (PYC) Christmas Celebration – Saturday, 16 December, Himatangi Beach. Anyone 18-35 yrs old is welcome to attend. Carpooling is available from the Cathedral parking lot, meeting at 9am and returning around 5-6pm. Find our Facebook Page ‘Palmy Young Catholics’ and send us a message if you would like to attend.
For this event, PYC is hoping to appeal to the generosity of the church parishioners. If you would like to contribute to this initiative, please email Olena at olenahresh@gmail.com or speak with her at the end of the 6pm mass at the Cathedral on Sunday to donate. Thank you so much for helping the young adults.

St Vincent de Paul Society – Our heartfelt thanks to the ‘Unity Singers’ for the two nights of Carols in the Cathedral. We, also, wish to thank the over 400 attendees who contributed food and money that will help us assist those in the community that struggle and need daily necessities for survival.
St Vinnie’s Op Shop – Remember the shop closes next Saturday, 16 December and reopens next year on Tuesday, 16 January 2024.
Tokelauan Community – “We would like to thank the Parish for giving us the opportunity to participate in Mass celebrations each month. We wish you a very Blessed Christmas and Festive Season. We will return on the last Sunday of February 2024.”
Our Lady of Lourdes Senior Luncheon – This event was a huge success and appreciated by everyone! Many thanks to all those who helped and donated in any way. A special ‘thank-you’ to the children from OLOL for beautiful singing, entertainment and donation.
