Fire Update
Over the last few weeks, progress has been made in cleaning the Cathedral. Scaffolding was erected in the Day Chapel and the Nave during the first week of July, and the cleaning crew was able to remove the ash and years of dust buildup from the wooden ceiling. However, there was a delay of a week before the scaffolding company could move the platforms down, so the crew had to wait before they could continue cleaning.
We are also working with various contractors, who look after our organ, stained glass windows, sound equipment, IT equipment etc to arrange times after the cleaning to come on site and check and clean specific pieces of equipment.
Our clergy and Parish Team are very appreciative of the support and patience shown by our parish community since the fire on 27 April 2023.
We appreciate your ongoing prayers and support as everyone continues to work hard to get the Cathedral open as soon as practicably possible.
