Getting Married?

Getting married is one of the big decisions that we make in our lives. You have approached us because you want your marriage to be a success both on the day of your wedding and your life together.

The essential properties of marriage are unity and indissolubility, so, when two people will and consent to marry one another, they give and accept one another for the rest of their lives.

For this to happen, you will need God’s blessing. You will also need the cooperation of many people if your wedding is to run smoothly. We, in the parish, wish to do what we can to support and help you in your preparation.  The attached form is for you to make a formal approach to us so that we can bring our team together to help where we can. This form gives us the basic information we need to keep in contact with you and offer our services.

Some of these services are:

  • A celebrant for your wedding
  • Marriage preparation course
  • Help with planning your service, including musical input.
  • Assisting you if you are getting married in this parish, in another parish or overseas.
  • Assist you with the documentation required for marriage.
  • Informing of the costs involved.

Already you are probably finding out how much is involved in planning a wedding, it can seem a little daunting. So, we are here to assist you create a ceremony that is creative of you both (e.g. Culture) and will strengthen and deepen your relationship as a couple during your time of preparation, and after you are married.
