OPENING OF THE CATHEDRAL  The Cathedral is now open, Monday through Friday 7:30am to 1pm.  If you have time during your busy week and are in the area, please feel free to spend some time in the Cathedral.  With a presence of parishioners periodically in the Cathedral, we hope to avert acts of vandalism and bad behaviour.  Thank you for your support – the Parish Team.

World Marriage Day – Tuesday, February 13.  In his 2023 apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis says, “Marriage based on an exclusive and definitive love becomes an icon of the relationship between God and His people and vice versa.  God’s way of loving becomes the measure of human love.”  There are special publications for this day at: https://www.nlo.org.nz/news-and-events/media-releases/world-marriage-day/

Catholic Chaplain, Palmerston North (PN) Hospital – Kathleen Field is the Catholic Chaplain at PN Hospital.  She can arrange for a priest to visit and provide sacraments for patients in the hospital, if required.  She can be contacted on 021 509 436.

Praying the Sunday Gospel is held every Friday in the Cathedral Lounge at 11.00 am.  This is a time for quiet contemplation and reflection on the Gospel.

Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament – Cathedral – Monday- Friday 7:30am – 9am, Friday evenings 6-7pm and OLOL – Friday, after 10am Mass until 12noon.

Blokes Morning Tea – Tuesday, February 13 at 10am, Manawatu Golf Club, Centennial Drive.  All blokes welcome.

Ladies’ Movie Afternoon – Tuesday, February 13 at 1:30pm, Cathedral Lounge.  This month’s movie is “Whisky Galore,” a 2016 remake of the classic 1949 Ealing Comedy, where Scottish islanders try to plunder whisky from a stranded ship.

St Vincent de Paul Society – Meeting Tuesday, February 13 at 5:15pm in the McManus Room.  If you are interested in joining us in the work we do, please feel free to join us at this meeting.  Alternatively, you can phone Rose Semmens at 021 153 4810.

Sacramental Programme – Is your child(ren)  7 years or older and would like to make their Reconciliation and First Communion, please come to our welcome and information meetings –  Cathedral: Tuesday, Feburary 13 at 5:30pm, Cathedral Lounge or Our Lady of Lourdes: Thursday, February 22 at 5:30pm, Gathering Area.  We would love to see you there!

St Vinnie’s Op Shop – At present, we are very busy getting the shop organized and processing donated items.  Therefore, we request that you hold off dropping off  donations for the next few weeks.  Until then, volunteers to help are always welcome.  Please contact Toni at 06 357 6779 if you are interested in volunteering.  Thank you.
