Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament – Cathedral – Monday- Friday 7:30am – 9am  and OLOL – Friday, after 10am Mass until 12noon.

Stations of the Cross – Friday evenings 6-7pm

Rite of Acceptance and Enrollment of the Names – Sunday, February 18 at 3:15pm, Cathedral.  Our RCIA candidates, for this year, will participate in a special ceremony to begin their journey of faith and growth in Catholicism and our community.  All parishioners are invited to attend and welcome our RCIA candidates.

Caritas Lenten Reflection Programme – the first session is Tuesday, February 20 at 7pm, Cathedral gathering area. These sessions will continue every Tuesday at 7pm in the Cathedral Lounge until Easter.  All are welcome!  Please come along and join our group for a in-depth exploration of the Lenten journey.  The theme this year is, “The Time is Now! Ko Tenei tonu te Wai!”

Sacramental Programme – Is your child(ren)  7 years or older and would like to make their Reconciliation and First Communion, please come to our welcome and information meetings –  Our Lady of Lourdes: Thursday, February 22 at 5:30pm, Gathering Area.  We would love to see you there!

News and Information

Cathedral Open Hours – Monday through Friday 7:30am to 1pm.

Hospitality -Begins again this Sunday, Feburary 18, after the 9:30am Mass.  Please come to the Cathedral Lounge after Mass for some fellowship and nibbles.  Hope to see you there!

St Vincent de Paul Society – Thank you for your generosity of food donations.  Currently, we are in need and would appreciate cereals, pasta and vegetables (fresh or tinned).

St Vinnie’s Op Shop – We are accepting donations of winter clothing; furniture, in general; but especially need beds, that are in demand at this time.  Please phone 06 357 6779 for any assistance.

Tokelauan Community – Will begin music at OLOL on Sunday, February 25 at 9:30am Mass.  Hope to see you there.

Wednesday Evening Rosary – Wednesday evenings at 5pm, you are invited to pray the Rosary. For further information, contact Ian Sutherland 06- 356-7555.

Praying the Gospel is held every Friday in the Cathedral Lounge at 11.00 am.  This is a time for quiet contemplation and reflection on the Gospel.

Hibernian Catholic Benefit Society Meeting – Saturday, February 17 at 3pm, Cathedral Lounge.  This is the 4th quarterly meeting.  All interested members are welcome and encouraged to come so that we can have a quorum.  For those interested in learning more or joining the Hibernian Catholic Benefit Society, contact Richard Law at richard.m.law@gmail.com or 027 635 5328.  We can provide assistance with medical expenses, back-to-school expenses, prayer and fellowship.  We can also provide financial grants for those with newborn children.

Joshua Catholic Men’s Fellowship Meeting – Tuesday, February 20 at 7pm, St Mary’s Church foyer, PN.  Come share prayer, praise and reflection on the Sunday Gospel.  Fr Ambrose will give a Lenten homily.  Afterwards, there will be a light supper to finish.  If you would like to join or more information, contact John Hammond @ 022 688 7750.

ALPHA – Come meet new people and explore faith together on Wednesday, February 21, 6:30-8:30pm at Our Lady of Lourdes, Gathering Area.  Please come and join us for dinner, a short movie and discussion.  No cost, no pressure!  Praying to see you there.

EMMAUS Discovery Seminar Saturday, 9 March at 9:30am – 12:30pm, Cornerstone Christian School (91 Mihaere Drive, PN, Gate B, L Block).  Silvia Purdie is an ordained minister and qualified counselor with a particular interest in mission and the natural world.  This seminar is to equip those providing pastoral care with insights of climate psychology together with theology and ministry.  The world, in general, and young people, in particular, are increasingly concerned about threats to God’s Creation.  This fuels anxiety, hopelessness and conflict.  How should people of faith respond?  Register to hear what Silvia has to share at https://www.emmaus.net.nz/enrol-now,  $50pp or call 06 280 2467. 

Palmy Young Catholics (PYC) Fundraiser at Libre (Mexican Restaurant, George Street) – Wednesday, March 13 at 7:30pm.  Call and book your table for some good food, a game and support the PYC.  The fundraiser part of the evening is a game of “Loteria”, the Mexican game of Bingo.  While participants enjoy their meal, bingo cards will be available for purchase, $10 ea.  The proceeds from the bingo cards purchased go directly to the PYC, so please consider purchasing multiple cards!  There will be prizes, provided by Libre, for the Bingo winners.  It is a Win-Win event – you have Wednesday dinner sorted and could win a prize! Confirmation Programme 2024 – If you or someone you know is interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this year, please sign up via www.pndiocese.org.nz/manawatu-confirmation  We are starting the Confirmation programme with an information Whanau evening on Monday, February 26 at 6-7pm in the Cathedral Lounge.  Refreshments will be provided.

Senior Youth Group – for year 9-13 begins Thursday, February 22 from 5-7:30pm at the SPC Whare.  Dinner provided.  A time to interact with other like-minded youth, have fun and reflect.

Junior Youth Group – Begins Friday, March 1 from 5:30-7pm for years 6-8. A time to have fun, enjoy snacks and pray together.
