CHANGES TO OUR WEEKLY NOTICES:  One of the bonuses from the Cathedral Fire is that parishioners from both the Cathedral and Our Lady of Lourdes now feel comfortable in either parish home and attend the Mass that suits them.  To ensure that everyone is kept up to date with what is going on in our parishes, it has been decided to have the same notices read out at all five Sunday masses.  The opening will be, “Here’s a quick overview of what is happening over the next few weeks” and the conclusion,  “Please see the newsletter or parish website for more information.”  With this change, please know that not all notices will be pertinent to you but could be important to the parishioner you are sitting next to.

Volunteers Needed – We need volunteers to be Vergers at the Cathedral, to join the Cathedral cleaning teams(s) and for Children’s Liturgy at 9:30am Mass.  If you feel called to do any of these things or need more information, please contact Meg de Joux (Pastoral Assistant) at pastoral.admin@pncathedral.org.nz or 021 965 974 or the Parish Office, 06-357-2891 or 027-4408544.  “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another” (1 Peter, 4:10)

Diocese of Palmerston North Annual Report – Tuesday 21 November at 5:30pm, Diocesan Center – We wish to invite you to the presentation of our Diocesan annual report.  Liam Greer, Diocesan Manager, will introduce the report and discuss key areas of focus. Blessing of the Advent Wreaths– Wednesday, 29 November at 7pm, St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Ruahine St. Advent is a time of spiritual journey through the truths of Scripture that point to the birth of the Messiah.  It is a time of reaffirmation that He has come, is present in the world today and will come again in glory.  In preparation for the Advent Season, we will join with parishioners of St. Peter’s Anglican Church to pray, reflect in a simple evening liturgy and bless Advent Wreaths. Please come, bring your Advent Wreath(s) for blessing and enjoy this opportunity to prepare. A plate for supper would be appreciated.

Diocesan Library  – There is a plethora of books for Catholic study and reading available for your enjoyment and inspiration in the Diocesan Library.  For your convenience, during the month of November, there will be personnel manning the library on Tuesdays to Fridays 10:30am until 11:45am.  We would be very happy if you were to come and use this time, space and valuable resources.  Please access and check in through the Parish office.

Set up to support children, wanting to attend St Peter’s College and needing financial assistance.  To donate to this great resource for families in need, there will be donation envelopes available in the Church foyer.  You can also donate via your bank account, designate ‘SPC Assistance’ and your planned giving number in the remarks .  Your donations are truly appreciated by those that need the extra financial help.

Sunday, 3 December Annual Sick & Retired Priests.  The Clergy Trust Fund provides for the well-being and care of priests in the Diocese. This includes stipends, food, travel home for ‘overseas priests’, retreats and all costs relating to healthcare. The Clergy Trust Fund is struggling to meet growing medical costs. Hence, your giving to this special collection is most appreciated, especially by our elderly priests who then benefit from your generosity. Your support is a great way of showing your gratitude to your priests. Many thanks and blessings to all who contribute to this special collection.  Every contribution helps.
