PONDER

Time to lighten the load! Identify one element in your life – a relationship, attitude, behaviour –  that chronically keeps you from progressing on the spiritual journey. Take steps to reconcile, heal, and move forward. “Don’t think you need a lot of extra equipment for this. You are the equipment. No special appeals for funds. Keep it simple.

KID’S CORNER

Jesus said, “Come away by yourselves; let’s take a break and get a little rest.” (Mark 6: 31)

The rest you get at night is important for your health. When you get enough sleep, you wake up with energy for the day. You can think clearly and work and play hard. With sleep, many things come together for good.

The same is true of our relationship with God. We need to rest in God. Jesus knew this. That’s why he invites us to take time each day to be quiet and talk to God. With prayer, many things can come together for good. Try it today.

Loving God, give me quiet time with you today. Amen.
