Social Justice Week: 3–9 September 2023
Social Justice Week-Te Wiki o te Whai Tika 2023, focuses on peace and the need to recognize and grow peace within yourself.   Peace is not primarily about doing. It is first of all the art of being.  Spend time during the week 3 to 9 September, reflecting on a personal spirituality of peace.

Season of Creations:  Friday September 1 marked the beginning of the month-long Season of Creation. The theme for 2023 is “Let Justice and Peace flow like a river,” inspired by the prophet Amos who cries out “But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” (Amos 5: 24).

Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion
What a wonderful community celebration we had last Sunday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at the 9.30am Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion.  Thank you to our lay Ministers of the Word, John and Tino who did an amazing job.  We appreciate the time it took to prepare and present.  Thank you also to our Tokelauan group for the music which is such an important part of the Liturgy.

We have been very blessed to have had Fr Joe, Fr Vijay, Monsignor Dave and Monsignor Brian celebrating our masses over the last few years.  Over the course of the next 9 months, while Fr Joe is on sabbatical, there will be times when we do not have enough priests to cover all our masses.  Our next liturgies are scheduled for October when Fr Ambrose is on leave and we will be assisting with Mass cover at both St Mary’s and St Brigid’s.
